The Government has issued a consultation on proposals designed to reduce the risk of major company failures and to strengthen the responsibilities of directors in the context of actual or threatened insolvency.

This briefing summarises the key proposals. Much of the detail is yet to be fleshed out. However, it is clear that some of the proposals represent significant changes to corporate and insolvency law in the UK which will be of interest to directors, investors and all who operate in the restructuring and insolvency market.
