The Real Estate Review - England & Wales

Developments in Real Estate, in England and Wales prepared for the eighth edition of the The Real Estate Law Review

This chapter focuses on the key legal Real Estate developments and their potential impact on the global Real Estate market. It provides an overview of Real Estate activity.

The outlook for 2019 is dominated by Brexit and the ensuing uncertainty. However, Brexit must be seen in a global context and the UK remains attractive to investors from around the world. Trophy assets continue to be targeted by overseas investors, particularly from Asia. Although much of the global focus will remain on London, interest in the wider UK market from both domestic and overseas investors is a welcome development.

An updated overview of the Real Estate Legal framework includes:

  • foreign investment
  • structuring the investment
  • real estate ownership
  • leases of business premises
  • developments in practice

This chapter was first published in The Real Estate Review, 8th edition (published in February 2019) by Law Business Research Ltd.
